*Colossians 3:24 KJV* Knowing that of the Lord *ye shall RECEIVE THE REWARD OF THE INHERITANCE: for ye SERVE the Lord Christ.*
✍ *The believer is called to receive an inheritance from the Lord Jesus Christ. But the focus of the believer should not be on the inheritance rather the reward of the inheritance.*
✍ _It is important to understand the difference between Receiving the Inheritance and Receiving the Reward. *The inheritance is received by virtue of status whereas the reward is received by virtue of performance.* This is to say Inheritance is received by virtue of you being a child of God and Reward is received as a result of your performance as a child of God._
✍ _Notice the scripture says “…ye shall receive *THE* reward of *THE* inheritance…” This means *the inheritance you have in the Lord should propel you to ACT* in order to receive *THE REWARD* ordained for you. This is the reason why the latter part of verse says “…for ye *SERVED THE LORD”. Thus, you can receive an inheritance and yet forfeit your reward if you fail to serve.*_
✍ *Beloved, you have not been called to be passive covering service to the Lord. God has given you as inheritance as his child and He expect that you help to promote His Kingdom by enagging in Kingdom activities for the reward ordained for you. Serve the Lord enthusiastically.*
